Bio

Instead of making compromises, Synje Norland simply follows her true path. In 2007, she released her well-received album SKIPPING STONES on Norland Music, a label she set up with her father. Synje Norland's music reflects her love of travelling, having taken her all the way to Canada. It is here, she discovered her love of song writing “and the love of a certain Irish-Canadian“, she adds mischievously. Synje Norland doesn’t just create music, she is music - with every part of her being. She marches to the beat of her own drum - albeit a quiet one. But it doesn’t stop there. Her songs and vocal talent can be heard in several German movies and television series, and also in the new commercial of Ferrero Raffaello, shown all over Switzerland and France. Currently Synje Norland is writing and recording new songs for her second album "It's going to be bit more up tempo than SKIPPING STONES. Also, I'm discovering new instruments, like the Swiss-made hang drum, which are not just adding a lot of color to my arrangements, but also inspiring me in my writing." Synje Norland's second album is due out in spring 2010.
